Aplicação exógena de quitosana no sistema antioxidante de jaborandi Ciência Rural

A aplicação de eliciadores em plantas é utilizada em estudos de fisiologia para compreensão dos mecanismos de defesa ao ataque de herbívoros ou infecção por patógenos. Em virtude disso, foi avaliado o efeito do eliciador exógeno quitosana no sistema antioxidante enzimático de jaborandi (Piper mollicomum Kunth). Foram avaliadas as atividades das enzimas ascorbato peroxidase (APX), catalase (CAT) e superóxido dismutase (SOD) e as concentrações de peróxido de hidrogênio (H2O2) e malonaldeído (MDA), ambas análises para verificar a peroxidação lipídica. BACKGROUND: To evaluate the hepatoprotective potential and invitro cytotoxicity studies of whole plant methanol extract of Rumex vesicarius L. Methanol extract at a dose of 100 mg/kg bw and 200 mg/kg bw were assessed for its hepatoprotective potential against CCl4-induced hepatotoxicity by monitoring activity levels of SGOT (Serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase), SGPT (Serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase), ALP (Alkaline phosphatase), TP (Total protein), TB (Total bilirubin) and SOD (Superoxide dismutase), CAT (Catalase), MDA (Malondialdehyde). The objective of this work was to study the stress tolerance and regeneration capability of transgenic pepper plants carrying a sod gene, encoding a tomato chloroplast-localized Cu/Zn SOD protein. The expression of the sod gene was confirmed by enzymatic staining following polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE), revealing a ‘novel’ band, which could represent a heterodimeric enzyme. Transgenic T1 and T2 progeny plants were exposed to different oxidative stresses including Methyl viologen (MV) and drought and found to have an increased resistance to oxidative damage. Pre-eclampsia is a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy in which enzymatic antioxidant defenses fail and tissues are injured. This prospective case-control study evaluated whether pre-eclamptic women and their newborns show higher degrees of oxidative stress than normal pregnancies and sought to determine if this stress is related to clinical severity. Forty-four pre-eclamptic and thirty healthy pregnant women attending two hospitals in Valparaíso, Chile, were studied. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of short-term levosimendan exposure on oxidant/antioxidant status and trace element levels in the testes of rats under physiological conditions. Twenty male Wistar albino rats were randomly divided into two groups of 10 animals each. Group 1 was not exposed to levosimendan and served as control. Levosimendan (12 µg/kg) diluted in 10 mL 0.9% NaCl was administered intraperitoneally to group 2. The study of SOD activity in Jerusalem artichoke tubers in 3 varieties that were different harvesting stage and no report the amount of SOD in different parts of Jerusalem artichoke tuber was carried out. The aims of this study were to evaluate SOD activity in various varieties of Jerusalem artichoke and to evaluate the difference of SOD activity in different parts of Jerusalem artichoke tuber. This experiment used 3 varieties of Jerusalem artichoke including Hel 65, CN 52867 and JA 89 that were different genotypes. These tubers were separated into 3 parts: head, middle and tail for extraction and determination of SOD activity. The results showed that Jerusalem artichoke var. Hel 65 exhibited the highest SOD activity compared to var. CN 52867 and JA 89....

低温と光がアズキ実生の抗酸化酵素活性に与える影響 OAK

出芽期の低温に強いアカネダイナゴンと出芽期の低温に弱い斑小粒系-1の実生を15℃で低温処理 した時に,両品種の抗酸化酵素活性に違いがあるのかどうかを調べた。アカネダイナゴンの緑化実生を 低温処理すると,APX 活性やCAT 活性は上昇したが,斑小粒系-1のCAT 活性は顕著に低下した。しか し,黄化実生に4000Lx の光照射下で低温処理すると,斑小粒系-1のCAT 活性は上昇したが,アカネダ イナゴンのそれはほとんど変化しなかった。斑小粒系-1の緑化実生は,光のある状態で低温を受ける と代謝が乱れ,CAT 活性が低下して細胞内の過酸化水素が過剰となり,細胞障害を起こすのかもしれない。 Seedlings of 2 varieties of Adzuki beans – the Buchisyouryukei-1 variety, which is weak under low temperatures in the budding stage, and the Akanedainagon variety, which is resistant to low temperatures in the budding stage – were investigated to clarify whether differences in the antioxidative enzyme activity are associated with exposure to low temperatures (15ºC).
